Imagine that you
Were the preacher that day
On a hillside near home
Or some other high place
And people had gathered
To hear what you say
And your words left the crowd
Overwhelmed and dazed

Imagine that you
Were the preacher that day

Or a stadiums stage
And people had gathered
To hear what you say
And the authority of your words
Overwhelmed and dazed

But I am not Jesus
You would probably say 
I don’t have the wisdom
Or the authority of His kingdom
But Jesus and God
Gave all that to you
The day you became Christ’s
And He came to live in you

For within you dwells
Through Christ and His Spirit
All the wisdom of God
All His Kingdom’s inheritance
Your words are His words
His knowledge You’ve received 
You simply need to live in
This changed reality

Like a very foreign land
Jesus kingdom is different
His way of thinking
Can seem like great weakness
The servant of all
This King shares all His Kingdom 
With all who would seek
Daily to be with Him

So to know what you have
As Christ dwells within you
To see things His way
To live in His kingdom
We need each day
To spend time just with Him
Hear His voice, get His vision
For this world’s healing

When we know who we are
Through Jesus eyes
The Beloved of God
Jesus’ Holy Bride
And see how He has healed us
From brokenness and sin
We can joyfully embrace
His fullness within

When we hear His words
Of loving correction
Which open our hearts
To His faultless direction
When we experience the power
Of His Words to restore us
To change our point of view
We can share that with others

When we feel the joy
God has in our presence
By His right hand
With Jesus seated
Our hearts and minds
Are changed in His Presence
His thoughts become ours
Through His indwelling essence

When we live daily
In Jesus Kingdom’s reality
It restores our thinking
Heals all our damages
Fill our hearts and minds
With God’s peace, joy and love
Forgiveness becomes natural
And His wisdom becomes ours

Then the words that we speak
Are changed forever
For encouragement and love
Become our new meter
Our words and actions
Are filled with God’s power
Bringing glory to God
Every day, every hour

So there lives within us
One who could preach
On a hillside near home
Or some other high place
Where people had gathered
To hear what you say
And your words can leave the crowd
Overwhelmed and dazed

For in the words
That we say every day
Whether out and about
Or at work, home or play
Jesus’ authority resides
To overwhelm and daze
With God’s love and wisdom
His kindness and grace

So don’t imagine
You cannot speak
Powerful words
Like Jesus did
For the fullness of Christ
Lives daily in you
Dwelling daily in His Presence
Is all you need do
