Gods image incarnation
The heavenly host rejoicing
At Your humble birthing
Shepherds and Wise men
Giving You their worship

As a child growing
In wisdom and revelation
Understanding Scripture better
Than Your teachers comprehending
Your favour with God
Giving You favour with others
And a clear path of destiny
To save many sinners

What was it like
To be You Jesus
To be the Son of God
Born in human form?

You were obedient God
Even in baptism
Though You did not need the cleansing
For You were without sin
You fasted in the desert
Living only from God’s word
Resisting Satan‘s temptations
And remaining true to God

You turned water into wine
With a single command
Many chose to follow You
Leaving jobs, home and land
Hearing in You voice
God‘s authority at hand
Your love and forgiveness
More than some could understand

What was it like
To be You Jesus
To be the Son of God
Born in human form?

The power of Your words
Moved people’s hearts, minds and spirits
As You taught about God’s kingdom
Which they could inherit
You taught and lived
God‘s forgiveness for sin
And outraged the self-righteous
By hated sinners forgiving

You healed all the sick
Who came to You for healing
And cast out demons
From those bound in torment
You fed thousands of people
From one boys lunch
And stilled a violent storm
To Your disciples awe

What was it like
To be You Jesus
To be the Son of God
Born in human form?

When others tried to kill You
But it was not Your time
You walked right through the crowd
Unhurt and unharmed
When a fig tree in a field
Fail to provide You with food
One word from You
And the fig tree withered

You shared Your power and authority
With all Your disciples
Sent them out to be witnesses
To Your Kingdom principles
They too healed the sick
Releasing tormented from demons
And came back rejoicing
In living in Your kingdom‘s freedoms

To be You Jesus
To be the Son of God
Born in human form?

When You could’ve reached for earthly power
You chose to ride a donkey
Through the worship of many
To a painful destiny
You accepted injustice
As authorities felt threatened
You were rejection by the crowd
Who put their trust in Cesar

You walked the lonely road
To Your own crucifixion
Because Your power to love
Defies all description
The nails and suffocation
The weight of all our sin
Our rejection by God
You took it all in

To be You Jesus
To be the Son of God
Born in human form?

All of sinful mankind
Died with You that day
Though many do not know it
So still live in it’s sway
Buried with You in death
Sinful man stayed in the grave
Your new life we were all given
As You rose from the grave

Your resurrection life
Eternal power and glory
Took You to heaven’s throne
Where You rule with God Almighty
This is the life You share with us
Though we could never earn it
Co-heirs and One with You
Now and for eternity

Born in human form?

Now through Your Presence
And Your indwelling Holy Spirit
You make us Your temple
As all heaven we inherit
You share all that You are
And all that You have
With us as Your siblings
And Your eternal bride

Now all that You can be or do
Is possible for us in You
Acts of power and authority
Service that sets others free
Loving enemy and friend
Forgiving all, again and again
Wisdom receiving from You daily
Knowing the Trinity intimately
