“And in love he [God] chose us before he laid the foundation of the universe! Because of his great love, he ordained us, so that we would be seen as holy in his eyes with an unstained innocence. For it was always in his perfect plan to adopt us as his delightful children, through our union with Jesus, the Anointed One, so that his tremendous love that cascades over us would glorify his grace —for the same love he has for the Beloved, Jesus, he has for us. And this unfolding plan brings him great pleasure!” Ephesians 1:4-6 TPT
Our Identity
Before the world’s foundation
God ordained us to be
United with His son
Pure and Holy as One
Embraced in His heart
In His love for all time
Our home, our being, our identity
Is in Christ as Gods children for eternity
So we are what
God ordained us to be
United with His son
Pure and Holy as One
Embraced in His heart
In His love for all time
Our home, our being, our identity
Is in Christ as Gods children for eternity
This is all God’s work
His Grace and Glory
Evident in us
As His beloved family
We can never earn it
Just receive it and be
Our home, our being, our identity
Is in Christ as Gods children for eternity
So we are what
God ordained us to be
United with His son
Pure and Holy as One
Embraced in His heart
In His love for all time
Our home, our being, our identity
Is in Christ as Gods children for eternity

Meditations on verses from Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesis
Perfection (Sabbath Rest)
Lord Jesus I rest in Your righteousness
Your perfection in all its fullness
Filling me through Your indwelling Presence
Your life giving power my true essence
Jesus I rest in Your Perfection
You reveal me as Your reflection
Once all I could see was my imperfections
The wisdom I lacked, my sins and miss-directions
But You opened my eyes to see Your face
In your eyes I found perfections embrace
Lord Jesus I rest in Your righteousness
Your perfection in all its fullness
Filling me through Your indwelling Presence
Your life giving power my true essence
Jesus I rest in Your Perfection
You reveal me as Your reflection
In You I have my true origin
My family line; my source; my creation
Made from the earth and placed into Christ
Your Holy Spirit, my breath, my life
Lord Jesus I rest in Your righteousness
Your perfection in all its fullness
Filling me through Your indwelling Presence
Your life giving power my true essence
Jesus I rest in Your Perfection
You reveal me as Your reflection
Once I wandered far from Our home
Seeking independence and self-made renown
I became blind to Your Love for me
My true identity I could not see
But when You revealed Your Love to me
From deception and lies setting me free
You restored the fullness of my identity
As the true Child of God You made me to be
Lord Jesus I rest in Your righteousness
Your perfection in all its fullness
Filling me through Your indwelling Presence
Your life giving power my true essence
Jesus I rest in Your Perfection
You reveal me as Your reflection
Though I tried to earn Your loving approbation
To prove my value through works and regulations
Nothing I could do came close to Your perfection
Guilt, shame and fear were my constant companions
But then You revealed Your Love to me
That in You my old self died completely
And in Your resurrection I’m re-born into perfection
Raised to heaven in You, God’s child in re-creation
Lord Jesus I rest in Your righteousness
Your perfection in all its fullness
Filling me through Your indwelling Presence
Your life giving power my true essence
Jesus I rest in Your Perfection
You reveal me as Your reflection
Now I can see, in Your Perfection
All striving can cease as We rejoice in my ascension
To God’s right hand as His whole and Holy child
My identity resorted, Our family reunited
Lord Jesus I rest in Your righteousness
Your perfection in all its fullness
Filling me through Your indwelling Presence
Your life giving power my true essence
Jesus I rest in Your Perfection
You reveal me as Your reflection
All that You are is now my inheritance
With all that You have, You have me blessed
You overcome all with Your Pure Light
And all that I need, You will now provide
Now I can live daily in Your Light
Your wisdom and love filling me, heart and mind
Live in Your Presence, as One, face-to-face
My true identity is in Your Embrace
Lord Jesus I rest in Your righteousness
Your perfection in all its fullness
Filling me through Your indwelling Presence
Your life giving power my true essence
Jesus I rest in Your Perfection
You reveal me as Your reflection
Jesus I rest in Your Perfection
You reveal me as Your reflection
Jesus I rest in Your Perfection
You reveal me as Your reflection
“Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.” Genesis 2:7 NLT
“So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27 NLT
““So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.’ “But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began. “Meanwhile, the older son was in the fields working. When he returned home, he heard music and dancing in the house, ‘Your brother is back,’ he was told, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf. We are celebrating because of his safe return.’ “The older brother was angry and wouldn’t go in. His father came out and begged him, “His father said to him, ‘Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours. We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost, but now he is found!’””
Luke 15:20-25, 27-28, 31-32 NLT
“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.” Ephesians 1:3, 5 NLT
“Having determined our destiny ahead of time, he called us to himself and transferred his perfect righteousness to everyone he called. And those who possess his perfect righteousness he co-glorified with his Son!” Romans 8:30 TPT

Jesus’ Faith
My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, dispensing his life into mine!” Galatians 2:20 TPT
Faith, then, is birthed in a heart that responds to God’s anointed utterance of [Jesus] the Anointed One.” Romans 10:17 TPT
Jesus’ Faith was birthed in me
As He gave His Eternal Life to me
I can live from His faith eternally
Live from His power to set us free
Rest in all He’s accomplished for me
Rest in His guidance to set people free
Your Faith Jesus, Your Faith lives in me
I rest in Your Faith to create in me
The child of God I was born to be
Jesus’ faith in God led Him to baptism
Even though as a man He had not sinned
And as a result of His Faith’s action
Bystanders heard God’s appreciation
“This is My Son, whom I love
With Him I am well pleased!”
Your Faith Jesus, Your Faith lives in me
I rest in Your Faith to create in me
The Son of God I was born to be
Jesus’ Faith took Him through the desert
Without the need for food and water
There to be tested with Satan’s taunts
And offers of power if He changed gods
Faith kept Him strong in God’s Word
So He could not be once deceived
Your Faith Jesus, Your Faith lives in me
I rest in Your Faith to create in me
The child of God I was born to be
Jesus Faith lead Him to preach
Of God’s Love and complete forgiveness
How God desired true holiness
And that requires our re-birth
To become God’s Sons, just like Jesus
Reborn living in His righteousness
Your Faith Jesus, Your Faith lives in me
I rest in Your Faith to create in me
The Son of God I was born to be
Jesus faith lead Him to heal
The sick and dying, making love real
The demon possessed He set free
Those in hunger He did feed
To those whose wounds were hurts of heart
He spoke words that gave them a new start
Your Faith Jesus, Your Faith lives in me
I rest in Your Faith to create in me
The child of God I was born to be
Jesus’ Faith took Him safely through
Dangerous mobs that His love eschewed
Storms that scared the disciples sorely
Situations that were fraught with treachery
His peace and calm His disciples amazed
His words of power left them stunned and afraid
Your Faith Jesus, Your Faith lives in me
I rest in Your Faith to create in me
The Son of God I was born to be
Jesus Faith took Him through His trial
Though justice was clearly being denied
Severe beating and mocking He received
While His enemies shouted in treachery
“Crucify Him!” Though innocent
It was justice for us that kept Him silent
Your Faith Jesus, Your Faith lives in me
I rest in Your Faith to create in me
The Son of God I was born to be
Jesus Faith took Him to the cross
To die as us, for our sin’s cost
He took the punishment we most deserved
Sundered from God in death’s dark curse
So our sinful self could die with Him
For the joy of seeing us born again
Your Faith Jesus, Your Faith lives in me
I rest in Your Faith to create in me
The child of God I was born to be
Jesus Faith raised us together from death
For it could not contain His holiness
Resurrected to Life Eternal with God
Re-making us in the Image of God
To rule at God’s right hand with Him
Co-heirs, God’s Sons for eternity
Your Faith Jesus, Your Faith lives in me
I rest in Your Faith to create in me
The Son of God I was born to be
Jesus’ Faith has given me His Spirit
To seal His Life as my inheritance
Given me a new heart, in His Love bound
And a new spirit to His Spirit joined
For He has made His home in me
As His dwelling place for eternity
Your Faith Jesus, Your Faith lives in me
I rest in Your Faith to create in me
The child of God I was born to be
Jesus’ Faith was birthed in me
As He gave His Eternal Life to me
I can live from His faith for eternity
Live from His power to set us free
Rest in all He’s accomplished for me
Rest in His guidance to set people free
Your Faith Jesus, Your Faith lives in me
I rest in Your Faith to create in me
The child of God I was born to be
Your Faith Jesus, Your Faith lives in me
I rest in Your Faith to create in me
The Son of God I was born to be

God Chose Us
“And he chose us to be his very own, joining us to himself even before he laid the foundation of the universe! Because of his great love, he ordained us, so that we would be seen as holy in his eyes with an unstained innocence.” Ephesians 1:4 TPT God chose us To be His very own Joining us to Himself Before He made the universe! Lovingly ordaining us As His holy ones The very first people Were innocent and pure Made in God’s image He gave them this earth to rule And a choice to stay like that Or go their own way without Him They chose to go their own way To rule without God And it broke their hearts and spirits As shame and fear took control Destroying their relationships With God and other people But God had chosen us To be His very own Joining us to Himself Before He made the universe! We Were Designed
Ephesians 1:4-6; Genesis 1:26-27; 3; Exodus 20:18-21; Exodus 32; Psalm 106 We were designed to live as one with God From the very beginning when we were imagined in His heart He wanted us to be members of his family To be united with Him, Father, Spirit and Son When Adam and Eve were born into this world They were free to choose if they would follow God When they chose independence of God for their direction This damaged who they were, broke their heart, mind and spirit Shame about their actions now became their driving force In fear they hid their brokenness from God and others Blame shifting and lies became their solutions Faith and trust was broken, in God, self and others The result of this brokenness is detailed in the Bible As people hurt each other and many rejected God God’s judgment and destruction and confusion of their language Reduced the damage they did but was not the solution We were designed to live as one with God From the very beginning when we were imagined in His heart He wanted us to be members of his family To be united with Him, Father, Spirit and Son God chose Israel as His nation and His people Freeing them from slavery with the wealth of their captors God’s mighty miracles to rescue and sustain them Did not stop them from worshiping manmade idols When God invited Israel to be his special people To be in His Presence, to speak to them in person In fear and shame Israel refused this invitation Asking for His instructions which from a distance they’d obey Armed with God’s Law Israel though they had the answer To pleasing God from a distance which they thought safe But laws do not make a broken people whole As people and a nation God they rarely obeyed We were designed to live as one with God From the very beginning when we were imagined in His heart He wanted us to be members of his family To be united with Him, Father, Spirit and Son But God had a solution for our brokenness To make all our sins, over us, powerless He had a way for our broken self to die And be reborn in Him, in the twinkling of an eye God sent Jesus to show us the life We could live if we were truly God’s child And to take our brokenness into Him And die for us, with us and our sin Then God gave us Jesus powerful resurrection As our new life and our new direction A new heart and spirit, made in His image United with His Spirit to complete our family lineage We were designed to live as one with God From the very beginning when we were imagined in His heart He wanted us to be members of his family To be united with Him, Father, Spirit and Son Now we can rejoice as part of God’s family Living in and from His Kingdom, now, daily His love and peace, righteousness and joy Is our dwelling place once we are re-born So when you see the troubles in this world People behaving badly, people being hurt Know that the solution is not found in man and law Only re-birth in Jesus has the power to heal us all We were designed to live as one with God From the very beginning when we were imagined in His heart He wanted us to be members of his family To be united with Him, Father, Spirit and Son
Light Undiminished
“The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:4-5 NLT
“And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.” Ezekiel 36:26-27 NLT
“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.” Ephesians 1:3-5 NLT
“This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1:5-7 NLT
There was a time I did not know God personally
I knew his rules and commands but knew they were not for me
I could not love Him or others as he commanded
The deceptiveness of sin had my heart by stone surrounded
But Jesus came into my life to show his love for me
Offered me His love to live in and to give away for free
Offered me a new heart that was living and loving
Offered me a new spirit with His Holy Spirit united
Jesus Your Glory light reigns undiminished
No darkness has the power to ever overcome it
United with You, You from ALL sin cleanse us
You purify all darkness from within us
Making us pure and holy by Your Own Presence
Now I live with Jesus, united as one
His powerful light cleansing me even when I stumble
When I take the wrong direction He turns me around
Shows me the path where His life can be found
Jesus Your Glory light reigns undiminished
No darkness has the power to ever overcome it
United with You, You from ALL sin cleanse us
You purify all darkness from within us
Making us pure and holy by Your Own Presence
I need never fear my sin can taint or damage Jesus
For in His death and resurrection is the power to redeem us
To exchange our death for His eternal life
He has overcome all to give us his Glory light
Jesus Your Glory light reigns undiminished
No darkness has the power to ever overcome it
United with You, You from ALL sin cleanse us
You purify all darkness from within us
Making us pure and holy by Your Own Presence
All of sins damage can be taken to the cross
And left there to die, now powerless
Be left in exchange for Jesus resurrection life
We have this privilege every day of our life
Jesus Your Glory light reigns undiminished
No darkness has the power to ever overcome it
United with You, You from ALL sin cleanse us
You purify all darkness from within us
Making us pure and holy by Your Own Presence
Now I can, without any hesitation
Stay in the Presence of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit
Now nothing can separate me from God’s love
For Jesus’ holiness and righteousness, He has made mine
Jesus Your Glory light reigns undiminished
No darkness has the power to ever overcome it
United with You, You from ALL sin cleanse us
Re-making us in Your Holy Image
Filling us with Your Glory light and essence
Making us pure by Your Own Presence
The Storm
“One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and started out. As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap. But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling with water, and they were in real danger. The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm. Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?” The disciples were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!”” Luke 8:22-25 NLT
“For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ,
For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you … too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.” Colossians 1:19, 27 NLT
Jesus took His disciples
On an interesting journey
Across a large lake
In a boat for that many
As they sailed across
He lay down for a nap
Jesus had no worries
To keep Him awake
For Jesus knew
That He had a destiny
And nothing would stop God
From making it be
He knew He could rest
In God’s loving hands
That journey was not
The end of God’s plans
Jesus also knew
That God could be trusted
To keep His word
Once it was established
So He could rest
Unconcerned as He travelled
With God as protector
Nothing Him troubled
Jesus also could rest
In His own identity
As God’s beloved Son
With God’s Spirit in Him
The hands that made stars
Powerful words that created
We’re living in Him
To provide what He needed
This same Jesus
Who could rest anywhere
Is living in us
With His loving care
We can rest in His faith
Rest in His Presence
For His Spirit seals us
Into His essence
For in Jesus we know
We have a destiny
And nothing will stop God
From making it be
We know we can rest
In God’s loving hands
Today’s journey is not
The end of God’s plans
With Jesus faith we know
That God can be trusted
To keep His word
Now it is established
So we can rest
Unconcerned as we travel
With God as protector
Nothing can us trouble
We can also rest living
In Jesus’ identity
Making us God’s beloved Sons
His Spirit in us eternally
The hands that made stars
Powerful words that created
Are living in us
To provide what is need
A very fierce storm
Came down the lake
Water filling the boat
Making it unsafe
The disciples were worried
They started to panic
No doubt they knew
Storms could do fatal damage
They were so gripped with fear
They could not see
That Jesus’ word to travel
Was their surety
With Jesus sleeping
Their safety was certain
Nothing would harm them
Or endanger their mission
Instead of taking
Their wisdom from Jesus
The disciples panicked
And woke Him from sleeping
Shouting their fear
Like He was not listening
They put their trust in
The storm as their ending
So often it seems
When life throws us a storm
All we see is the danger
It all seems so threatening
We forget Jesus
Living peacefully within us
And His word to us
Which our future guarantees us
Jesus woke up
And spoke to the storm
Commanded it be still
And it obeyed His word
The storm was abated
Gone in a moment
And Jesus’ authority
Became self-evident
Then Jesus questioned
His disciples thinking
For they had seen Him
Many miracles making
If He could heal and deliver
Make one lunch feed thousands
Why had they more faith
In the storm’s manifestations?
This is the question
That life’s storms ask us
In whom do you trust
For all your answers
Do you really trust
In Jesus, God’s Son?
Or do your problems
Seem the bigger one?
The disciples were awestruck
At Jesus’ power
And authority
That made the Storm cower
They had yet to see
Jesus was God incarnate
Our Divine Creator
There in person to save them
When we look at Jesus
We should be awestruck
At His great power
To provide solutions
No one who sought Him
For help with a need
Left empty handed
Or at all disappointed
Now this same Jesus
Is living in us
We can see through His eyes
And in God trust
When storms rage around us
But we find Him sleeping
We can rest in Him
For His word is our keeping
For just as God
Was in Jesus living
In His Beloved Son
All His Glory revealing
So Jesus in us
Fills us with God’s fullness
To live victoriously
Through His loving kindness
