To see Your face Jesus

Is my heart’s desire

Like John did on Patmos

Or Stephen at his trial

So my earthly problems

Are obscured by You

And I’m caught up in worship

For praise is Your due

.

Open my eyes to see Your face

To talk with You and know Your embrace

So Your Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation

Makes me complete with You in union

.

To see You Papa God

Is my heart’s desire

Like Moses in the tabernacle

Or Job by his friends’ side

So my earthly problems

Are obscured by You

And I’m caught up in worship

For praise is Your due

.

Open my eyes to see Your face

To talk with You and know Your embrace

So Your Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation

Makes me complete with You in union

.

To see You Holy Spirit

Is my heart’s desire

Like the dove on Jesus’ shoulder

Or the Pentecost fire

So my earthly problems

Are obscured by You

And I’m caught up in worship

For praise is Your due

.

Open my eyes to see Your face

To talk with You and know Your embrace

So Your Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation

Makes me complete with You in union

.

A meditation on:

“I pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to you the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know him through your deepening intimacy with him. I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of his calling—that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that he finds in us, his holy ones!”
