To show God to us now

To the stripes of the whip

Which caused you so much pain

It was not the nails

That held You to that cross

It was a Your love for us

The joy to come in our release

You took our separation

Took the death we were due

As your last breath You took in

As we laid you in the tomb

But death could not hold You

For You are the sinless One

For You had earned that merit
