Jesus the flame of your presence in me

Gives me life eternally

Your love flowing in and through me

Your presence touching all of my being 

Your power flowing endlessly

Your love joy and peace set me free

Cleanses me from sin daily

In You I am from sin set free

Reborn so sin no longer chains me

Your holiness mine eternally

Your Spirit guiding me daily

Makes me a Kingdom child for eternity

God’s beloved son, You have made me

Your inheritance given for free

When the wine ran out 

At a village wedding

Most would have seen a lack

An embarrassing situation

But Jesus Kingdom thinking

Saw the solution in the making

Of abundant good wine

A Holy Spirit poured out sign

.

When God’s temple had become

Consumed by sales and making money

Most would have seen the need

To keep the temple running

But Jesus Kingdom thinking

Saw the need for quiet praying

With authority sent traders packing

To show God’s Kingdom reining

.

When Nicodemus questioned Jesus

About entry into heaven 

Most would have seen the rules

That Israel have been given

But Jesus Kingdom thinking

Spoke of a complete rebirth

Born again through God”s Spirit

A gift of eternal life

.

When Jesus saw a man

Who’d been ill for most his life

Most would have seen a cripple

Who was simply bound to die

But Jesus kingdom thinking

Saw God’s healing in the offering

By His command the man was walking

A sign of God’s Kingdom reigning

.

When Jewish leaders rebuked Jesus

For Sabbath laws broken

Some would have questioned

Jesus’ place in God’s Kingdom

But Jesus Kingdom thinking

As God’s Son saw Daddy working

And joined in the re-creating

Of this world to be God’s kingdom 

.

When a man chained and tormented

Fell at Jesus’ feet for mercy

Some would have seen a madman

Dangerous and dirty

But Jesus’ Kingdom thinking

Saw evangelist in the making

And sent the madman’s demons packing

A sign of God’s Kingdom’s freedom

.

When an adulterous woman

Was thrown at Jesus’ feet for judgement

The crowds just saw her sin

Saw her stoning as right punishment 

But Jesus’ Kingdom thinking

Saw forgiveness win the day

A sign that freedom from sin and shame

Is God’s Kingdom way

.

When Lazarus had died

And laid for days in the grave

All thought it was his end

That his life had been curtailed

But Jesus’ Kingdom thinking

Saw Lazarus come out living

Freed him from death’s decay

To show God’s Kingdom’s resurrection 

.

At Jesus’ trial and crucifixion

And death upon the cross

Satan saw his own victory

Thought Jesus had lost

But Jesus’ Kingdom thinking

Trusted God with the outcome

Knowing through His resurrection

With God we all could be One!

.

As I go through my day

And find problems in my way

I can think it is the end

And God’s plan is to condemn

But then Jesus Kingdom thinking

Shows me His loving way

So the power of His resurrection

Can be seen now, today

.

A meditation  on what “For Who has ever intimately known the mind of the Lord Yahweh well enough to become his counselor? Christ has, and we possess Christ’s perceptions.” (1 Corinthians 2:16 TPT) means in practice.

I need not live in sin’s dark night

Trailing death throughout my life

For Jesus has given me His eternal life

His holiness makes me spotless and white

.

I need not live thinking I am wrong

Broken and hopeless, a lost one

For Jesus has given me His eternal life

His righteousness now makes me right

.

Jesus Your life

Is precious and pure

Help me live in it

Now and forever

.

I need not live life being alone

Having no one to call my own

For Jesus has given me His eternal life

I live with Him now, by God’s side

.

I need not live in fear or worry

Or anxieties for tomorrow that I carry

For Jesus has given me His eternal life

In His perfect love I find peace of mind

.

Jesus Your life

Is precious and pure

Help me live in it

Now and forever

.

I need not live in depression or sadness

Or losses I’ve had and feelings of powerlessness

For Jesus has given me His eternal life

I live now in His Joy and might

.

I need not live in sickness uncured

Or heartfelt hurts that are never healed

For Jesus has given me His eternal life

I live in His wholeness, His healing light

.

Jesus Your life

Is precious and pure

Help me live in it

Now and forever

.

I need not fear I’ve nothing to give

No love; too poor to do more than just live

For Jesus has given me His eternal life

God’s abundant love fills my heart, fills my life

.

I need not live in death’s mournful shadow

Where life ends with no hope for tomorrow

For Jesus has given me His eternal life

I will live forever as His Beloved Bride

.

Jesus Your life

When I do something wrong

Something I should not have done

I can take responsibility

And make things right if I can

But I do not need to live in blame

Or guilt or fear or crippling shame

I can look at the cross and say

Jesus died to take that sin away

.

Don’t chain the blame to me

Jesus forgave and set me free

He was judged for my guilt

And punished for my sins

And He died my death

So I could live in His holiness

Don’t chain the blame to me

.

When I say something wrong

Something I should not have said

I can apologise

And speak positives instead

But I do not need to live in blame

Or guilt or fear or crippling shame

I can look at the cross and say

Jesus died to take that sin away

.

Don’t chain the blame to me

Jesus forgave and set me free

He was judged for my guilt

And punished for my sins

And He died my death

So I could live in His holiness

Don’t chain the blame to me

.

When someone else does something wrong

Something they should not have done

They may have responsibility

To make things right if they can

But I don’t need to be their jailer

In blame and shame make them a prisoner

For when I look at the cross I see

Jesus died for their sin just like me

.

Don’t make a jailer of me

Jesus forgave and set us all free

He was judged for all our guilt

And punished for all our sins

And He died our all deaths

So we could all live in His holiness

Don’t make a jailer of me

.

Real justice does not lie

In human jails or recompense

For they can’t heal a broken heart

Or make us whole again

From all our hurts and prisons

Only Jesus sets us free

To live as His Beloved

One with Him eternally

.

I can see heaven’s place

And the joy of life eternal

As we sing God’s praise

Until joy is all we know

And joy is our rebirth

As we live in God’s place

Until peace fills all our hearts

And peace is our rebirth

When I see a loving action

I can see heaven’s place

And the love of God eternal

Filling all our days

And I want it to spread

Until love rules all our lives

And love is our rebirth

.

When I hear a choir singing

I can hear heaven’s place

And the music of the ages

As we worship God in praise

And I want it to spread

Till it covers all the earth

Until our lives are God’s music

And that music our rebirth

.

When I see great art

I can see heaven’s place

And the beauty that lies there

Our Creator’s art to praise

And I want it to be seen

Over all the earth

Until we become God’s artists

And art is our rebirth

.

When I catch a glimpse of Jesus

I can see heaven’s gaze

And the glory man was made for

As we live God’s way

And I want it to spread

Till it covers all the earth

Until we are all like Jesus

For He is our true rebirth

I love the play of light

As it falls upon the water

The ripples kiss it as one might

The most ardent lover

It glistens like a thousand jewels

That seek to be discovered 

It gleams and winks as if to say

This is for you and none other

.

I love the way light dresses dawn

And holds her in embrace

Sweeps away the dark of night

And opens up days promise

Gold and crimson sweeps the sky

Caresses all that meets the eye

Her colours sing of love and life

And praise the Painter of the skies

.

I love the way light shines through leaves

And speckles on the ground achieves

It winks and laughs like a child at play

Chasing shades gloom away

It dances on the colours

Of recently bloomed flowers

And lights up the forest

With loving caresses

.

I love the way light shines

In a clear blue sky

So vibrant and so joyful

So brilliant to the eye

Lauding with all praise

The Maker of the skies

Yet softened as the days

End comes in sight

.

I love the way light sings farewell

As days end comes to pass

Blazing colours across the sky

That fade into the dusk

A joyful celebration

Of life now in the past

A painting full of glory

Of the King’s radiance

.

I love the diamond lights

That embrace the night skies

The soft light of the moon

As it landscape gently swathes

To chase away the darkness

And kiss the flowers’ fragrance

A witness to God’s love

To all who on them gaze

.

But most of all I love the light

Of love that’s in Your eyes

As You call me to be Yours

To share Your kingdom prize

And joyfully embrace

My presence as I rise

To sit with You at God’s right hand

And be Your eternal bride

.

In what passes for news

I’m reminded of our sin

And all the damage it does

So I scarce can take it in

But when I look at the cross

As God’s Son died

I can see the punishment

For all our sins was supplied

.

Jesus, my Jesus

Your love covers all

.

When I hear words that hurt

Or useless cynicism 

I wonder who benefits

From this world’s criticism

But when I look at Jesus’ trial

And hear “Crucify this man!”

I know the judgement for all

Fell on Jesus, God’s Lamb

.

Jesus, my Jesus

Your love covers all

You are my death and resurrection

My life eternal

.

In life and TV dramas

I am reminded we are broken

And I can see that it leads

Only to destruction

But when I look at the grave

Where Jesus was buried

I see my sinful nature’s death

And me from it released

.

.

As I go about my life

I can see I have bad habits

That come from my old self

And I need to change my actions

But when I look to Jesus’ Spirit

Who now lives in me

He shows me Jesus’ way

Gives me His love, joy and peace

When I see abuse of power

And fear mongering

I wonder in whose capture

This world is living

But when I see Jesus rise

To God’s right hand

Taking me with Him

I know His kingdom is at hand

You could hear Your Father’s voice

When You were here on earth

And Your words were His words

Said with Your voice

You could see Your Father working

In other people’s lives

So You knew where to join in

And help complete His plans

.
