Many might have thought

You would only heal God’s people

That one sent by God

Would reject a Roman soldier

But Jesus You showed

God’s love has no such boundaries

You had come to save

Come to heal the whole world

.

I can see Your response

You did not question was he worthy

I can see Your response

And it was healing, now, today!

Your words showed no doubt

That You would bring healing

You were confident

Of God’s power in You

You knew as a son

That You were loved by Your Father

And He would give You

What You asked Him for

.

You did not ask, “Is he a sinner?”

You did not ask the child’s age

You did not ask the man’s religion

Or his politics or race

You understood his faith in action

And the anguish on his face

I can see Your response

You offered to go with him

To go out of Your way

To visit his home

And heal his son straight away

Though no normal Jewish rabbi

Would have behaved that way

.

I can see Your response

Jesus in Your Presence

I come to You today

To know Your love and healing

Know Your power’s sway

So I can be whole and holy

And filled to give Your love away

.

In faith I see Your response

And I see it is immediate

In faith I see Your response

And You are loving me today

In faith I see Your response

You do not question if I’m worthy

In faith I see Your response

And it is healing, now, today!

Lord I’m glad You have planted

That same Spirit within me

To love and heal without prejudice

To help all those in need

Help me to rest and trust in

Your Holy Spirit’s power

Through me let Your response

Be clear and immediate

Let all see Your response

See Your love for mankind

Let them know in my response

For You are Love so Your response
