Matthew 8:5 Meditation

“When Jesus entered the village of Capernaum, a captain in the Roman army approached him, asking for a miracle.”

Matthew 8:5 TPT

.

Jesus Your reputation for healing

Had spread from Your own community

So that even a captain in the occupying army

Knew that You were doing miracles

.

You still do miracles today

You still love to heal

You love to be the end of our suffering

You love it when we know You are real

.

The captain could’ve commanded Your presence

Could’ve sent his soldiers to pick You up

But instead he came to where you were Jesus

Humbled himself to plead his case

.

You still do miracles today

You still love to heal

You love to be the end of our suffering

You love it when we know You are real

.

He must have known that in the crowd he be unwelcome

As an enemy occupier he would be one scorned

But that did not prevent him from seeking You out

From speaking with You, Jesus, personally

.

You still do miracles today

You still love to heal

You love to be the end of our suffering

You love it when we know You are real

.

So certain was he of your power

So sure that what he heard was real

So sure your love did not discriminate

That an enemy occupier could gain your miracle

.

You still do miracles today

You still love to heal

You love to be the end of our suffering

You love it when we know You are real

.

Jesus open my ears and soften my heart

To the testimony of Your miracles today

May they build my faith in You

And draw me into experience and believe that

.

You still do miracles today

You still love to heal

You love to be the end of our suffering

You love it when we know You are real

.

Keep me from letting pride and position

Or prejudice and discrimination

Stop me from seeking out Your Presence

And asking You for miracles because

.

You still do miracles today

You still love to heal

You love to be the end of our suffering

You love it when we know You are real
