“”Why are you so angry?” the Lord asked Cain. “Why do you look so dejected? You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”” (Genesis 4:6-7 NLT)
“As Paul spoke about true righteousness, self-control, and the coming judgment, Felix became terrified and said, “Leave me for now. I’ll send for you later when it’s more convenient.”” Acts 24:25 TPT
How have you heard the Lord’s warning?
A Warning
I was going down a road
On a journey so exciting
The scenery was so pretty
And the company so inviting
That I did not see the danger ahead.
But You spoke to my heart Lord
Quietly and clearly
“Continue on that journey
And I no longer go with you”
I turned around and went Your way.
Remember the day God called you to be His child
Use writing or art to make a remembrance record of what happened.
What was God calling you away from when He called you to be His? What did you leave behind?
What did God call you into?
Where did the power to make that change and go with God come from?
Ask God what change He is inviting you into today. Record His reply without judging it. If it is encouraging, empowering and like what Jesus would say, it is from God.
Receive and thank Him for the empowerment present in His invitation.
Journal the difference having that invitation made to your day.
“Put on truth as a belt to strengthen you to stand in triumph.” Ephesians 6:14a TPT
Ask God what truth does He want to strengthen you with today?
Record the answer without judging it. If it is encouraging, empowering and like what Jesus would say, it is from God.
Ask the Holy Spirit to make that truth real to you now and during the day.
Record how He does that.
Look for something you can take with you during your day that will remind you of that truth.
Journal what happens. How did it help you to stand in triumph?
“Put on holiness as the protective armor that covers your heart.” Ephesians 6:14b TPT
Place your hand on your heart and say, “Lord I receive Your holiness as the protective armour that covers my heart, now, today. Holy Spirit make this real in me today.”
Look for something you can take with you during your day that will remind you of the presence of that protective holiness.
Journal what happens. How did it help you to remain in holiness?
“Stand on your feet alert, then you’ll always be ready to share the blessings of peace.” Ephesians 6:15 TPT
Write the word “peace” on a peace of paper and stand on it saying out loud, “Lord, I receive Your peace as my firm foundation for this day. Holy Spirit pour Your peace into and around me today. Make it real, tangible, for me and others.”
Look for something you can take with you during your day that will remind you of the presence of peace.
Journal what happens. How were you enabled to share the blessings of peace?
“In every battle, take faith as your wrap-around shield, for it is able to extinguish the blazing arrows coming at you from the Evil One!” Ephesians 6:16 TPT
Take a sticky note and write the words “Jesus faith” on it. Stick it to the inside of a peace of clothing you are going to wear that wraps around you, saying out loud, “Lord, I receive Your faith as my firm wrap-around shield for this day. Holy Spirit pour Jesus’ faith into me today. Make it tangible for me and others.”
Journal what happens. What protection from the enemies words and events designed to create doubts did you experience?
“Embrace the power of salvation’s full deliverance, like a helmet to protect your thoughts from lies.” Ephesians 6:17a TPT
Take a sticky note or sticky tape and write the words “Salvation’s full deliverance” on it. Stick it to the inside of a peace of a hat or scarf you are going to wear or on something you will see regularly during the day. Place your hand on your head, saying out loud, “Lord, I receive Your Salvation’s full deliverance to protect my thoughts from lies for this day. Holy Spirit make this deliverance real for me and visible to others.”
Journal what happens. What protection from lies did you experience?
“And take the mighty razor-sharp Spirit-sword of the spoken Word of God.” Ephesians 6:17b TPT
Ask God for the verse of Scripture that is to be your weapon for today.
Take a sticky note and write the Scripture on it. Stick on something you will see regularly during the day. Place your hand on the note, saying out loud, “Lord, I receive the Word as a weapon for this day. Holy Spirit make this verse real to me today so I experience what it says.”
You may also like to turn the verse into a short thanksgiving prayer or a declaration that you can pray during the day.
Journal what happens. What did you experience using this verse as a weapon?
