Let there be light

When God began creation of this world it was formless, dark and empty. Though His Spirit hovered above it yet His Personal Presence was not in it. We know this because

“God is pure light. You will never find even a trace of darkness in him.” (1 John 1:5b TPT)

But God did not want to stand aloof from His creation. He wanted to be part of it. He wanted to enjoy it, make it good like Him for “His life is light for all humanity.” (John 1:4b TPT). So He spoke His own Presence into His creation, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

That means every experience I have of light is an experience of the life giving Presence of God.

As you go about your day observe the light you see and welcome the Presence of God into your life.

The Physical light:

At the morning light I welcome Your Presence Lord.

In the light that dances on and reflects from water I see Your joyful Presence.

In the moon and stars at night I greet the light of Your Presence.

As I turn on a light I welcome Your Presence Lord.

The Spiritual light:

When You wrap me in the light of Your Presence I am undone by the fullness of Your Love for me.

And when I see the light of Your Presence in the faces and actions of others I rejoice in Your Presence in this world.

When You fill me with the light of Your Presence, Your life becomes mine and I am reborn in Your image.

The light of Your Presence is cleansing, healing, life-giving love and joy.

The Revelation light:

When I experience a revelation of the light of Your Presence I am drawn in love and awe to the powerful purity and beauty of Your Love.

When I experience the light of Your revelation through Your Word I feel You giving life to my body and soul.

The light and life of Your voice speaking to me is sweeter than honey and my soul longs to receive it every day.

I speak out and declare Your Word for my life:

Let there be light

Fill my heart with the light of Your Presence

Renew my mind with the light of Your revelation Words

Fill my spirit with the light of Your resurrection power

Pour the light of Your love and joy into every corner of my being

Wrap me in the protective light of Your Presence

Light the way before me with Your Presence

Be the light that guards my back

As I rise in the morning I say in agreement with You:

Let there be light

As I move about my home I say

Let there be light

As I go about my work, my day, I say Let there be light

Wherever I see darkness I say

Let there be light

As I lay down to sleep I say

Let there be light

Light of God (a song)

Into darkness and chaos, You spoke in Your light and divided the dark from the light.

And into Your light you birthed mankind Your Children with heavenly hearts and minds

Your stars and sun, moon and light

They light our way in the darkest night

Your star, Your Son, Your life and light

He reveals Your truth to our hearts and minds.

But into Your light came an evil destroyer, one who would darken our way.

He spoke of doubt in Your goodness and love, turned our minds and hearts astray

Into our world full of chaos and darkness, You sent Your Son, Your light

To die our death, overcome our darkness, to fill our lives with Your light

Your stars and sun, moon and light

They light our way in the darkest night

Your star, Your Son, Your life and light

He reveals Your truth to our hearts and minds.

Into darkness and chaos, You spoke in Your light and divided the dark from the light

And into Your light you’re re-birthing Your children with heavenly hearts and minds.
