Have Mercy

My life seems truly empty
Of Your redeeming power
The days go by
Without knowing Your touch
Or hearing Your voice
Speaking of love
And I’m like a desert, dry

Have mercy on me, Lord Jesus
Heal me, now, today
Fill me with Your resurrection power
So that I am empowered to give it away

My bones are weary from trying
My spirit is struggling for strength
My body is aching and tired
Yet I struggle to find rest
And I do not want to go on
Without knowing Your Presence again
I need to experience Your love for me

Have mercy on me, Lord Jesus
Heal me, now, today
Fill me with Your resurrection power
So that I am empowered to give it away

I read in the Bible daily
How You healed those who were sick
You did not hesitate
Nor refuse a single plea
I cry out to You from my bed
Please come and touch, heal me
From sickness set me free

Have mercy on me, Lord Jesus
Heal me, now, today
Fill me with Your resurrection power
So that I am empowered to give it away

It is Your Presence which draws me
For I want to know Your love filling me
In Your manifest Presence doubt leaves me
And faith rises up like a strong melody
The cares of this world fall away
When I’m overwhelmed by Your sway
And I’m seeking it now, today

Have mercy on me, Lord Jesus
Heal me, now, today
Fill me with Your resurrection power
So that I am empowered to give it away

I want to rise from this living death
From the chains of sickness that hold me down
Like Paul and Silas, display Your power
Praise You in every waking hour
Bring Your grace to the lives of others
Salvation, healing and deliverance
But it all requires Your empowerment

Have mercy on me, Lord Jesus
Heal me, now, today
Fill me with Your resurrection power
So that I am empowered to give it away

There is only one true joy
That makes this life worth living
That is experiencing You
And Your Presence with others sharing
For You are love personified
In You we’re reborn, glorified
And I want to know that today

Have mercy on me, Lord Jesus
Heal me, now, today
Fill me with Your resurrection power
So that I am empowered to give it away

A response to:

“It’s true he almost died, but God showed him mercy and healed him. And I’m so thankful to God for his healing, as I was spared from having the sorrow of losing him on top of all my other troubles!” Philippians 2:27 TPT
