To be betrayed
For 30 pieces of silver
Judas gave my love away

To be bound and put in chains
To have my ministry rejected
By violence and hate

I know what it’s like
To be wrongfully accused
When those who should’ve loved me
Condemned me anyway

I know what it’s like
To be abandoned by your friends
To face false charges laid
With no defender by your side

I know what it’s like
With innocence proclaimed
To be chosen by the crowd
And crucified by their hate

I know what it’s like
To be beaten and whipped
Till your flesh is falling off
And all you want is the end

I know what it’s like
To be nailed onto a cross
Tortured to death
Though you’ve done nothing wrong

I know what it’s like
To be jeered at and abused
To have your love rejected
with the harshest of words

I know what it’s like
To die and go to hell
To take the damage and the burden
Of the sins of the world

I did it all for you my love
So you could walk free
From ALL the ravages of sin
Knowing they had died with me

I gave you a new life
That’s whole and holy just like mine
Full of everlasting love
Full of resurrection power

So lay your burdens down
Your hurts and wounded pride
In the grave I have provided
