Sometimes I struggle

To love those I meet

They are not the sort of people

With whom I can agree

But Your love rises up

And flows out of me

And I see them with Your eyes

And know Your love for them is deep

.

Your light in me 

Jesus, Your light in me

Shines out of me so all can see

Your kingdom has come

And Your will of love is done

Because of Your Presence

Your light in me

.

Sometimes I want to strike back

When harsh words are said to me

To defend my own honour

Seems fair and not ungodly

But Your love rises up

And flows out of me

And I see them with Your eyes

And Your forgiveness is complete

.

Your light in me 

Jesus, Your light in me

Shines out of me so all can see

Your kingdom has come

And Your will of love is done

Because of Your Presence

Your light in me

.

Sometimes I want justice

To see villains suffer too

For the damage they have done

It seems only right and good

But Your love rises up

And flows out of me

And I see them with Your eyes

Your death made justice complete

.

Your light in me 

Jesus, Your light in me

Shines out of me so all can see

Your kingdom has come

And Your will of love is done

Because of Your Presence

Your light in me

.

Sometimes life is hard

With illness and loss

And it often seems unfair

So often undeserved the cost

But Your love rises up

And flows out of me

And I see life with Your eyes

And know Your healing ministry

.

Your light in me 

Jesus, Your light in me

Shines out of me so all can see

Your kingdom has come

And Your will of love is done

Because of Your Presence
