“Jesus, our Messiah, was cursed in our place and in so doing, dissolved the curse from our lives, so that all the blessings of Abraham can be poured out upon even non-Jewish believers.” (Galatians 3:14a TPT)
“And every curse will be broken and no longer exist, for the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there in the city.” (Revelation 22:3a TPT)
All the words that could hinder or hurt me
Even those that come through my family tree
The judgements
The put downs
The unjust accusations
The criticisms
The unkind descriptions
The curses
You stood between them and me
And took every blow
So I could walk away
Without injury
I can leave them all with you
In Your death on the cross
Let them die with You there
Powerless at last
And live in Your New Life
Free eternally!
Bury the past and adopt your new life:
Get two twigs and tie them into a cross.
On scraps of paper write all the negative words that you know of that have been spoken against you or your family. Do the same for events which gave you a negative perception of yourself.
Spike the papers onto the cross. With Jesus they have been crucified.
Thank Jesus that He took all your curses on the cross.
Bury the cross. As Jesus was buried in death so have your curses been buried with Him.
Ask Jesus how He sees you now. Write down the words that immediately come into your head. Don’t disbelieve or judge them until He is finished. If what you hear is more kind, more encouraging and more loving than you would be to yourself you can be sure you heard from Jesus.
Read that out loud daily.
Be freed from the curse of the Old Testament Law and adopt your new life:
Get strips of paper suitable for making a paper chain.
On the paper write all the Old Testament commandments you are aware of that you fail to keep.
Make all the strips into a paper chain that binds you.
Thank Jesus that He took all your failed attempts at keeping the OT Law into his death on the cross and as you do so break the chain into pieces letting them drop around you.
Thank Jesus that He fulfilled the Old Testament Law (Matt. 5:17) for you so it has been fulfilled already in your new life in Him (Romans 8).
Step out of the remnants of the chain and into your new life, disposing of the chain.
Ask Jesus how He sees you now. Write down the words that immediately come into your head. Don’t disbelieve or judge them until He is finished. If what you hear is more kind, more encouraging and more loving than you would be to yourself you can be sure you heard from Jesus.
Read that out loud daily.
Remember a time when by words or actions someone caused you to think negatively of yourself.
Ask Jesus what He was doing when that happened. Write down the words or pictures that immediately come into your head. Don’t disbelieve or judge them until He is finished. If what you hear is more healing, kind, more encouraging and more loving than you would be to yourself you can be sure you heard from Jesus.
Ask Jesus how He sees you now. Write down the words or pictures that immediately come into your head. Don’t disbelieve or judge them until He is finished. If what you hear is more kind, more encouraging and more loving than you would be to yourself you can be sure you heard from Jesus.
Read the second answer out loud daily.
Asking the Holy Spirit to guide you, draw, paint a picture or write the story of, your cursed self before you were co-crucified with Christ and your new free eternal self that has risen with Christ in His resurrection life.
