Through Your word of Power

Humanity was born

From the dust and dirt

A man and woman formed

In Your Image, in Your likeness

By Your breath fully grown

Only You can give us life

O Eternal One

Through Ezekiel’s words

You gave life to dead bones

Through Elijah’s actions

You saved the widow’s dying son

Through the blood of a lamb

You saved Israel’s first born sons

Only You can give us life

O Eternal One

.

Through Your Word of promise

Abraham had a son

Even though he was old

And his wife was barren

So Zechariah and Elizabeth

Had their son John

Only You can give us life

O Eternal One

.

Through Jesus’ birth

You came into this world

And raised servant, child and friend

From death to life again

And then died on that cross

So we thought You were undone

But only You can give us life

O Eternal One

.

Through Jesus’ resurrection

You’ve bought many sons to life

His righteousness and holiness

Earns us a place by Your side

Our death He conquered

And in Jesus we’re reborn

For only You can give us life

When I feel Your Presence Jesus

Nothing else matters

Your beauty and Your Joy

Any hardness in me shatters

I can feel Your arms around me

We are One You and I

The fullness of Your love

Is mine eternally

.

When I hear Your Voice Jesus

Nothing else matters

The life-power of Your words

My heart embraces

It brings healing, restoration

Giving me new revelations

You share Yourself with me

Now and for eternity

.

When I feel Your touch Jesus

Nothing else matters

It can lay me out cold

While I go to heavenly places

Or be whimsical and joyful

With music and dances

For in the power of Your Love

We find all our heart’s answers

Jesus, You are

The air I breathe which gives eternal life

And lifts me to Your height of heights

Fills my body with energy and light

Jesus my air, day and night

The water I drink which gives eternal life

Cleansing from sin and this world’s strife

Bringing healing and hope, a flow of delight

Jesus my living water, day and night

.

Jesus You are

The bread I eat which gives eternal life

Sustaining my body with power and might

Your word the food which gives life-giving light

Jesus my bread, day and night

.

Jesus You are

The clothes I wear for eternal life

Your righteousness makes me sinless and white

You bring me as Your bride to Your Father’s side

Jesus my clothes, day and night

.

Jesus You are

The light I receive which gives eternal life

Lighting my way with Your love and delight

Bringing me revelation, Your wisdom and insight

Jesus my light, day and night

.

Jesus You are

The power I need to have eternal life

To be one with You, spend eternity at Your side

To rule and reign through Your loving heart

Jesus my power, day and night

.

Jesus You are

The shield I wear to guard eternal life

Your love an enveloping, protective cloud

My hiding place, my fortress of delight

There is nothing I could do or say

That could add to what You did that day

When You hung up on that cross for me

Then rose up again to set me free

.

You have washed all my sins away

Taken my sinful nature to the grave

And You rose taking me with You too

Renewed, remade to live eternally with You

Jesus You have done it all!

Every day I’m renewed by the power of Your Grace

As Your Holy spirit fills me with Your Presence

The bad habits I have learned cannot stand in Your way

For they are dead and You are living in me today

.

As I walk in Your light it cleanse me from my mistakes

Saying, “No beloved. We can do it this other way!”

You take me down roads and paths that teach me Your way

You are with me, You are in me, for all my days

When I need new ways of thinking revelation comes to me

Things look so different when through Your eyes I see

The love You have for all flows in and through me

So I can show others how Your love comes to free

The light of Your Presence living in me

Will be there for eternity

It is for love You set me free

The light of Your Presence cleanses me

From sin and darkness sets me free

You could’ve turned stones into bread Jesus

Just like You once made wine from water

Just like You made one boys lunch feed five thousand

But it was not to serve You that You used Your power

.

You could’ve taken the easy road Jesus

Ruled the world with Your powerful words

Like You calmed the wind in a scary storm,

But it was not to enslave that You used Your power

.

You could’ve walked away a free man Jesus

From arrest, trial, a beating and the cross

Like You did from a stoning on an earlier day

But it was not to free You that You used Your power

.

You could’ve defended Your innocence at Your trial

You could’ve shown You were sinless, spotless and blame free

Like You demolished other arguments of the priests

But it was not to absolve You that You used Your power

.

You could’ve jumped off the cross on that awful day

Refusing to die for all our sins in that way

It was Your choice to die for us, wash our sin away

But it was not to die Your death that You used Your power

.

For You could never have stayed in the tomb many days

Your powerful eternal life could not lie in the grave

Just like You raised Lazarus to life again

You used Your power humanity from death to save

.

You could’ve ended this world and started again

Made a new and obedient Adam and Eve

Turned rocks into new sons of Abraham

But instead You resurrected us to be God’s sons again

.

Your power that could’ve been used to control

To make all people follow Your will

Was used to love and serve us instead

To raise us from the grave to Your heavenly throne!

When You came to earth as a human child

The glory of heaven You left behind

To live a life of service which showed

What mankind could be with God’s Spirit inside

.

The forgiveness, healing and powerful words

That flowed from You daily into our world

Showed us that love is God’s core nature

Showed us God’s goodness for us his creation

.

I want to experience Your Glory Jesus

To live it out every day

To bring You the honour You deserve

In all that I think, or do or say.

.

When You chose to stay silent at Your trial

Allowing Yourself to be crucified

We saw the judgement for our sin

Fall upon You and with You our sin died

.

When You rose from the grave to life eternal

Rose to the glory of God’s right hand

You sent us Your Spirit to dwell inside us

To give us Your power to live heaven on this land

.

I want to experience Your Glory Jesus

To live it out every day

To bring You the honour You deserve

In all that I think, or do or say.

.

Which flow from You daily into our world

Let them flow through me so all can see

Your home and goodness and living glory!

Your Resurrection power

Raises me to Your Throne!

Though there’s nothing that I have done

That could earn me a place as God’ son

Jesus lifted me up, made in both one

His unfailing love makes heaven my home!

God my Father is there to welcome me

To see me clothed in Jesus’ Glory

To rejoice that Jesus’ Spirit is sealed into me

So I am now one with the Trinity!

Ephesians 2:5-7 TPT “Even when we were dead and doomed in our many sins, he united us into the very life of Christ and saved us by his wonderful grace! He raised us up with Christ the exalted One, and we ascended with him into the glorious perfection and authority of the heavenly realm, for we are now co-seated as one with Christ! Throughout the coming ages we will be the visible display of the infinite, limitless riches of his grace and kindness, which was showered upon us in Jesus Christ.”

Sometimes it all seems too much

Will this sickness never mend?

I no longer have the strength to carry

This burden through to the end

.

So I lay my burden down at the cross..

Let it die with You; go to Your grave

And I put any faith in Your Resurrection power

To fill me with all that I need for today

Things go wrong no matter what I do or say

I struggle to find the answer, the way

To the challenges which come day after day

.

I worry the pain will be never ending

Some find they are bound by fear

Frozen and chained in the way they think

Yet Jesus stands beside each one

Saying ”Let me set you free to live…

.

Do not fear

For I Am with you

Do not fear

For I Am right here

Know my arms are open to hold you

Heaven’s power is yours as we become one!”

Some live in places of threat

Where the fear of bondage is normal life

Yet Jesus stands beside each one

Saying, “Let me set you free to live…

.

Do not fear

Jesus knows what its’ like to be threatened

To be hated, deserted and cursed

Yet Jesus says to everyone

“Let Me set you free to live…

To be tortured and crucified

But in His resurrection power Jesus says
