When I had strayed far from Your side

To live my life without Your guide

You sent Your Son, Your precious one

To give His life to bring me home

And You clothed me in Your rainbow robe

And gave me a ring, my sonship to seal

You gave me the shoes of the gospel of peace

Day by day You stood at the road

Looking to see if I had returned

And when You saw me from afar

You ran to greet me, my loving Father

.

And You clothed me in Your rainbow robe

With joy and feasting all our days

You had a party to celebrate

My resurrection from death to life

My return to live by Your side

.

And if when I daily work in Your fields

I think to earn Your love by my deeds

You remind me I live by Your side as Your son

All that’s Yours is mine because we are One

.
